During the Martin L. King Day ceremonial celebration, Annette contacted Michael and William in Atlanta. She asked that they stop by the Gallery just to see Daso's work in Buckhead. After the conference call, and a meeting with John Daso, Michael scheduled the date for the shooting. The phenomenal thing about all of this is - Michael, William and John have yet to meet Annette.
"I'm from Oklahoma City, and people are friendly," states Annette D. Colbert-Beavers, "Oklahomans know how to make friends." "It is interesting," Michael Wilson adds, "because she sold us on the project by phone and the Internet."
The "I Remember When" Collection will be shown on March 8-12, 2009 at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan, New York. Tickets are on sale through Shubert Ticketing. (www.telecharge.com)
In addition, a local event at the Mansion on Peachtree is scheduled for Friday, February 27 at 7:00p.m. This event will give John Daso local recognition in Buckhead.
"Art with a Touch of Mink" is another elegant event produced by Annette D. Colbert-Beavers and tickets go on sale next week through the same company (www.telecharge.com). It features art and a mink fashion show.
John Daso keeps this all in perspective. His wife Janice shares, "It is the gift that makes room for him."
And John is quick to conclude, "Wherever the gift takes me is where I go."
